When the dashboard tab is in the background, it’s easy to miss new conversations—especially if you stepped away for a moment or didn’t see a notification. Adding an unread indicator directly in the browser tab would make it instantly clear when something needs attention.
What this would enable
See unread conversations at a glance right in the tab title (e.g., “(3) Dashboard”), similar to Facebook-style notification counts.
Get a clear visual cue even when the tab isn’t active, helping agents spot new messages while working in other tabs.
Improve response times by making new activity harder to miss—especially when you’re AFK briefly or notifications are muted.
Use familiar patterns from other tools (e.g., Intercom/HubSpot), such as a badge, dot, or number on the tab/favicon to indicate attention is needed.
Example behaviors users are asking for
A number in the tab title like “(1)” or “(3)” when there are unread messages/notifications.
A small dot/badge on the tab icon to show something requires attention.
